Ingredients
- 500g ground beef (rump, sirloin or rump)
- 1 egg
- 2 tablespoons oat bran
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 2 cloves of minced garlic
- 1 tablespoon chopped parsley
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
- 4 slices of mozzarella cheese
- Lettuce leaves for serving
- Side dishes of your choice (tomato, red onion, bacon, avocado, low carb mayonnaise)
Preparation Method
- In a bowl, mix the ground beef, egg, oat bran, chopped onion, chopped garlic, chopped parsley, salt, black pepper and smoked paprika. Mix well until all ingredients are incorporated.
- Divide the mixture into 4 equal parts and shape each into a burger.
- Heat a nonstick skillet over medium heat. Grill the burgers for about 3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked to your desired doneness.
- In the last 30 seconds of cooking, place a slice of mozzarella cheese on top of each burger. Cover the pan and let the cheese melt.
- To assemble the burger, place a lettuce leaf on a plate. Top the burger with melted cheese and finish with your favorite toppings.
