Ingredients:
- 500g ground beef
- 1 chopped onion
- 2 cloves of minced garlic
- 1 chopped carrot
- 1 stalk of chopped celery
- 1 can of peeled tomatoes
- 1 cup vegetable broth
- 1/2 cup dry red wine

- Chopped fresh basil to finish
- 500g wholemeal pasta

Preparation method:
- Sauce preparation: In a large saucepan, heat the olive oil and sauté the onion, garlic, carrot and celery until softened.
- Meat: Add the ground beef and sauté until golden brown.
- Flavor: Add the red wine and let the alcohol evaporate.
- Sauce: Add the peeled tomatoes to the vegetable broth, season with salt and black pepper to taste.
- Cooking: Cook over low heat for about 40 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens and the meat is tender.
- Noodle: While the sauce is cooking, cook the whole wheat pasta according to package directions.
- Finalization: Drain the pasta and mix with the sauce. Sprinkle with chopped fresh basil before serving.
Tips:
- For an even healthier version, replace the beef with shredded chicken or lentils.
- Add other chopped vegetables to the sauce, such as zucchini, eggplant or peppers.
- Serve with a green salad to complete the meal.
